Don't want to connect to internet

When starting my Office XP products (primarily Word and Excel), I'm prompted
to connect to the internet. I cancel the effort, but am prompted several
times. This is especially annoying when I start Office "fresh" to work on a
new/blank document. I've tried detect and repair. I've swept my PC for
viruses, bugs, and worms. I've even customized the Office installed features
to a bare minimum. Is this a worm nobody's found or am I missing some
checkmark?

Open help, at the bottom of the taskpane, below see also, Online Content Settings,
clear
"Show Microsoft Online featured links."

I opened Help, but there is no "see also" at the bottom of anything. I
searched for Online Content Settings and turned up nothing. Had the same
result searching for Microsoft Online featured links.
