Don't want to install an update I downloaded

I downloaded Office SP3 and the computer wants to install it but I don't want
to install it. Is there a way to erase or remove this update

I'm curious why you would download something you don't want
but...........Look under Add/Remove Programs. Make sure you select the View
Updates options. (I have Vista and don't remember exactly how it's phrased
in Win XP).

The thing is you can only remove that after it's been installed! The
installation causes problems with my xp. Only found out after I downloaded it.

Now I'm confused. If it hasn't been installed, then how can you discover the
problems it has with XP after it's been installed.

Maybe if you gave a few details about these problems, someone can help you
get past them.

It was installed!! Had problems with it and did system restore to undo the
installation but it doesn't undo the fact that I downloaded it - which means
that every so often it tries to install itself! I hope I've clarified my
problem - I wish I could solve it!!

To remove the SP, you must uninstall Office and reinstall without the SP.

You can pick and choose which updates you want. But many people have SP3 and
it's not messing up their Win XP, why not find out if there's a solution to
the problem?
