Hi everybody,
I am facing a problem that I can hear of in many forums, but no real
solution seems to appear.
On some machines (for me, just one fort the moment, but I guess it will grow
up), let's say XP SP2 with the last updates, Office 2003 Standard with the
last updates, when you (any user) double-click on a .xls or a .doc (any .xls
or .doc), it takes nearly one minute to open. The same file opens immediately
by File/open.
I read that I can modify the end of the command associated with the xls
extension in the Windows explorer Tools/Folder Options dialog. Not that
clean, but I can satisfy myself with that.
Except that it comes back ! Every now and then, the same problem occurs. I
check the Windows explorer parameters, they have not changed. I just ckick
"OK" without changing anything ... and it works again !
I am (a bit) lost. I didn't understand the reason of the Windows explorer
settings change, anyway. Presently, I am looking for any wireless connections
that could interfere with the process ... Well, I am lost.
Does somebody face this return of the evil Windows explorer setting ?
