Can an option for "(1)" be added to the Bullets and Numbering dialog?

AFAIK you cannot do this in the GUI

You can with code

Sub specialbullet()
With ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange
For i = 1 To .Lines.Count
With .Lines(i).ParagraphFormat
..Bullet.Type = ppBulletNumbered
..Bullet.Style = ppBulletArabicParenBoth
End With
Next
End With
End Sub
