Double Sided Scan grayed out

I installed Office 2007, and made sure to install the Office Document
Scanning, but when I go to scan, the option for a double sided
document is grayed out so that I can't check it.

I have tried to repair Office, but that doesn't seem to help.

Any help would be appreciated.

You didn't mention the OS version...if it's Vista, make sure you have a
scanner driver that supports duplex scanning. My 1.5 year-old AIO
printer/scanner lost many of its features when I changed to Vista and HP
will not update their driver for it. Either way, make sure your scanner
works properly outside of Office first (maybe you've alreay done that).
