Doubling the size of the project

Dear Friends,
I created a project sized 500 KB and i published it to the project
server.After one month i was unable to save the project the project server
where i found out that the size of the project became 20 MG !

Can anyone tell me the cause of the doubling the size and how to solve it ?

Hello,

The first thing i would suggest you check is to ensure that you have Service
Pack 1 for both Project Professional and Project Server installed.

This could possibly be caused by blank local resource records in your
enterprise project.

Basically, if you have an enterprise project and in the resource sheet you
have local resources that have blank names, every time you save the project,
the blank named resources are duplicated. For example, if you have just one
blank named local resource and you save the project, you'll now have two.
Save again and you'll have four. Every time you save, the number of blank
local resources doubles.

This is a known problem and sometimes the number of blank resources is in
the thousands. The lesson is to make sure you don't create blank-named
local resources.
