Downgrading Office XP Premium to Office XP Professional

I have recently landed in a Project to convert the existing installation of
Office XP Premium to Office XP Standard. Several hundred machines were
deployed in error with the wrong version before it was caught. I use a
desktop management tool to inventory and distribute software (not SMS), and
was wondering if the Custom Maintenance Wizard is my best bet for automating
the process? I need it to change the entire product ID from Office Premium
to a Office Professional, not simply remove Frontpage, but I don't want to
lose user settings or otherwise uninstall\reinstall. Could I get some advice
please? I have to get moving on this quickly. Point me in the right
direction. The end result needs to be able to handle the scrutiny of a BSA
inspection.

Thanks

So far I have scripted to uninstall XP Pro + FP and install XP Pro. No
reboot seems to be required and it is standardizing the Install point so
future maintenance will be easier. Still, I had to script a way to back up
the normal.dot, because many staff have macros and other customizations. It
will only backup the last-logged-in user as located in the registry, so I'd
really like a way to back up the normal.dot in all profiles. Better yet,
find a way to modify the installation and keep all of the settings.
