Download Gmail with Entourage

Hello, I've been an Apple Mail user for 4 years and a Gmail user for 5
years. I've always used POP access.
I'm trying to switch to Entourage 2008 but first I want to solve this:

I imported messages and general Gmail POP configuration from Apple
Mail to Entourage and retrieved email correctly. My Gmail is set to
leave a copy of email when accessed from a client; but, when Apple
Mail retrieves new mail I can no longer retrieve it from Entourage and
Vice versa, even though my unread messages are still in Gmail.

It cuold sound weird to you, but I'd like to open Apple Mail and see
my unread messages, And I also want to open Entourage and see ALL
email I haven't read since the last time I opened.

Please help!

I believe this limitation is caused to some extent by Google's idiosyncratic
implementation of POP. Also, keep in mind that POP accounts were never meant
to be used the way you want to use them. There is a much easier solution:
Gmail can also be accessed via IMAP, so configure both Entourage and Mail to
use IMAP instead of POP.
