Is it possible to have a user download a .png off of a site through a dialog?
Jens Peter Karlsen said:Yes, use a script that on click of the download link throws up an alert
box that ask if they are sure they want to download and cancel the
action if they say no.
However, why bother? If they by accident start a download, they can just
close the download window to abort the download.
Also notice that png files will open in the browser. You should zip them
if they are meant to be downloaded.

Andrew Murray said:The download dialogue is built in to your browser.
In Windows explorer, right click the PNG file, select send to > Compressed
Folder.
Compressed Folders has been an accessory of Windows since Windows 98, so
install "Compressed Folders" from Control Panel > Add/Remove programs >
Windows Setup if necessary.
Anyway.....in Frontpage, import the zipped file. Create a hyperlink to it
in Frontpage. Publish the html page and the *.zip file.
View the page, and click the link, you'll see the download dialogue will
come up automatically.

way for a user to download a .png file (which i have uploaded to the server)
through a dialog? I ask because i have seen this done on websites.

Jehuty said:Ok, I've checked out that coding, now here is the other problem:
Part of the coding includes this: ( fn = "whatever.jpg" )
I would need to put ( '<%=FP_FieldURL(fp_rs,"MyMap")%>' ) in place of the
"whatever.jpg" section.
Now how will that be possible because the %> cancels out the first.
