Downloaded update Windows Installer 3.1get rid update reminder

Yesterday I downloaded the update for “Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1â€. I
get the update reminder on my task bar but when I asked to install it I get a
message that states cannot be installed. I do not want this update and want
the reminder to go away. What must I do?

If you do not want the update, you can hide it so it doesn't show up anymore..
