downloading clipart from Microsoft

Kathy

When downloading clipart from the Microsoft site into
Word, the clipart appears as text (programming) instead
of the graphic. How do I fix this?

How are you inserting the picture? Does pressing Alt+F9 make a difference?

When you click the "Download" button on the clipart site, what happens next?
What format are you using? (Clip Gallery (.cil), or Clip Organizer (.mpf))?

If the file is opened by Word instead of Clip Gallery or Clip Organizer,
you'll need to reset the file association. Please try the following:
Open My Computer from your desktop

Click VIEW | FOLDER OPTIONS (or Tools | FOLDER OPTIONS for WindowsXP)

Click the FILETYPES tab.

Scroll down and click on Clip Gallery Package, .CIL if you're using Office
2000 or below, or .MPF if you're using Office XP or later.

Click the "Change." button next to the "Open with:" Label.

Pick Microsoft Clip Organizer or Microsoft Clip Gallery from the list.

Click Ok.

Click Ok.

What version of Word are you running and are the latest Service Packs &
Patches installed for it.

Have you checked in your downloaded groups of the Clip Gallery, Word 2000,
or the My Pictures\Microsoft Clip Organizer folder? Its possible that its
located there for Word 2002 and 2003 users.
