downloading files from the internet

Can anyone help figure out why whenever I try to download
a file from an internet site, the file is rendered in an
Excel format with all its columns and such and does not
pertain to the information I'm trying to get. Thanks JeffG

Hi
very difficult to say as we don't know what file you're downloading,
what file format is has, etc.
