Downloading images in Outlook

The new Outlook feature that blocks images in emails until the user downloads
them seems to be fairly unknown to many users. They just think that there is
an error in the email. I work with email marketing (legitimate lists only)
and am wondering if there is anyway to incorporate the unblock function in an
HTML email? E.g. by putting a link in the top of the email "Click here if you
images don't appear". If that doesn't work I would like to instruct the user
how to unblock the image, but I then wonder if there are more the download
link is always in the same place in Outlook clients?

Are you sure it's fairly unknown or do they just not want to download your
images? In my case, I don't want to download most external content, even
from site where I requested the newsletters or ads. When I want to see it, I
right click and download.

While it's fairly easy to miss the banner at the top of the message in OE,
Outlook includes text in each image placeholder, so if the person can see
and can read, it should be obvious. Maybe larger images (so the text in the
placeholder is complete) is needed?

Many newsletters tell users to add their address to contacts to avoid junk
filtering and also tell them how to enable images. Any automatic method of
forcing your images to download would defeat the purpose of the block.
However if you embed and include the images, it avoids the block - it will
increase the size of the message, which may upset your recipients...

Only Outlook 2003 blocks images, so the steps to unblock it is the same for
all users of Outlook 2003.
