Hi:

I am trying to download an Excel template from Microsoft's site. I a
able to download a Word template, Publisher template, etc.

When I try to download an excel template I get the followin
message...

The instruction at "0x303a5f3f" referenced memory at "0x524300lf" Th
memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the program.

At that point I am brought back to the microsoft site and am still a
the same template.

I am running Windows 2000 Professional and Excel 2000.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank

excel while trying to open.

I too am having similar problems trying to download Excel templates from the office.microsoft.com website. Excel opens and then indicates it has detected an error which causes it to have to close and asks me if I want to send MS a report. I have tried this with several different templates and get the same results. I am running WindowsXP home edition and Office Professional 2000. Anyone have any suggestions

Quoted below are a couple of suggestions from Ken Macksey....

*********************************
1. Click tools
2. Click internet options
3. Click privacy tab
4. In the web sites area, click edit
5. In the address of web site textbox, paste
http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/templategallery/
6.Click allow
7.Click OK
8. Click apply
9.Exit ie and restart system

**************************************
It appears that the first time you use the template gallery, you must go
directly to the site,
http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/templategallery/default.asp and must have
cookies enabled so MS can save your acceptance of the EULA which you must
agree to. After that, it should work.

I'm having the same problem with Office 97, and have tried the solutions to no avail. The funny thing is, it used to work, which makes me think that it was either a microsoft patch that caused the problem or some other piece of software. Also, the templates do get downloaded into my temp directory, so the download portion is fine. It's just getting it to excel that is the problem
