downloading updates error messages

I am trying to download office 3 professional updates and keep getting the
message"installation failed". Suggested causes are antivirus protection;disk
full or networtk problems. I have disabled my antivirus protection, the
diski is has 150gb free spacfe and the network appears to be working fine.
Please help

You don't mention what version of Office you are updating, or what patches
you are trying to install.
