draft to outbox- then stuck

I am using Outlook 2007 on a Vista Small Bsn machine. If I have any
attachment, this one is 4 kb, I can not get the email to send. I am using AVG
8.0. The check outgoing email for virus is disabled. Sending mail without
attachments is fine. Moving the file from outbox to draft and trying to send
is fine. How do I make it go?

When you say "Draft to Outbox", do you mean you're dragging the message from
the Drafts folder to the Outbox thinking that it will send?

I went through my email acount settings and set them all up MANUALLY rather
than accepting Vista or Outlook suggestions. The pop and smtp settings had
to be changed. The port settings for SSL had to be changed. Now all my
emails with attachments are gone.
