Drag a message from Outlook 2003, can't read it in Outlook 2000

My company is in the early stages of upgrading from Outlook 2000 to
2003 and we've run into one compatibility issue we can't resolve or
find documented anywhere. If a message is dragged from Outlook 2003
to a file or into a document, Outlook 2000 is unable to read it. Does
anyone know of a solution or official explanation?

Outlook 2003 uses a different mail store format than earlier versions of
Outlook. You can change your default mail store in 2003 to be compatible
with earlier versions but then you lose the benefit of the new format.

That's really not germane to the OP's issue. He's dragging a message from a
PST into a folder; i.e., storing it as file type MSG.
