Drag fields onto without labels or labels on top of field?

Hello,

I've got to add a lot of fields onto my form. In order to make them fit, I
am putting them side by side. I'd like to put the label over above the field
and not to the left of it.

I think it would be faster just to create a label and position it over the
field, rather than having to make the label bigger and extend it right,
extend it left and so on just to get it over the field.

Is there a way to determine where the label appears in relation to the field
when dragging from the field list? Can you drag a field and not have a label?

Thanks.

Drag the top of label upward to double the vertical size. Drag the bottom
upward to change back to orignal size but higher. Drag the right side to the
right so right edge is even with right side of field. Drag left side to be
even with left side of field.

Wha La, it is relocated.

Uh Karl man....that was I did.

The question was is there a way to just drag a field onto a form without a
label?
Or maybe have the option of where the field label is placed in relation to
the field?

I think it would be faster to just create a label and put it on top of the
field than all this extending and dragging of the field label. Especially
when you have a lot of fields.

Here's how to do what you want to do.

Open your form in design view.
Open the properties dialog.
Click on the textbox selector in the toolbox.
Note the caption of the properties dialog changes from "Form" to
"Default Text Box".
Scroll down the Format properties until you reach "Auto Label"
Set to "No" to be able to drag a field onto toe form without a label.
Or set the "Add colon" to "No", and change the "Label X" and "Label
Y" values to position the label where you want it relative to the
textbox. 0" and -0.166" puts the label right on top of the textbox on
my machine.

This one form will keep those settings when you save. you can set a
form as template in Tools->Options so that any new forms will be
created with those settings.
