Hi Barb,
Well, it sounds like you're about on par with a Salmon
trying to swim upstream on a dry creek bed.
If you have repaired the document (assuming you're working
with the subdocuments here) then you may be able to paste the
drawing canvas to a new document save that, delete it from
the original, save that under a new file name and then
close itand then after reopening use either Insert=>Document
or paste from the 'new document' after making your changes
to the Drawing canvas there if saving as a web page doesn't
help at all. Unfortunately with the versions/master-sub/
and multiple sections adding a lot of objects to 'manage'
for Word can raise the possibilities for corruption.
I do hope that at least 'allow fast saves' is turned off
in Tools=>Options=>Save?
=========
Well, let's just say that I inherited these documents. There is a "Master
Document" (yes, I know) and 10-15 subdocuments. Within each subdocument
there are generally 3 sections with headers and footers. In one section,
there is usually a "Drawing Canvas" with lots of objects. In addition,
"Versions" are enabled in each subdocument. (I know about their propensity
to corrupt a document, too) Unfortunately, I don't have the authority to
change any of these things.
In the document I've been editing, I did have to "Open and Repair" it not
long ago.
Does that answer your question?
Regards,
Barb Reinhardt >>
