Drawing layer does not print with document

I have created an organizational chart with lines and boxes and text inside the boxes. When I copy the page, the drawing layer does not transfer to the new pasted copy. Also, when I go to print, the lines and boxes are not visible in the Print Preview AND if printed to PDF, only the text transfers. No boxes or lines transfer to the PDF.

Where is the drawing that shows in the Word Document going when I try to print?

Hi Gregg;

When you select text on a page you're doing exactly that, so any objects on
that "page" will not be copied unless they're set to In Line with Text
rather than having Text Wrapping applied... IOW, they aren't a part of the
text layer so they don't get copied.

As for the printing, go to Word> Preferences - Print, make sure you have the
boxes checked for Drawing Objects & Background colors & images.

Thanks Bob,

If I convert the graphics created in the draw layer to inline, then it messses up the format and design of my document. Does this have to be done for it to print? I don't recall this happening previously.

Also, I went into Preferences and checked the boxes you indicated, but it did not change the way the page printed.

I really appreciate your help, but aparently, I am not out fo the woods yet.

Hi Gregg;

Sorry if I wasn't clear - the objects do not have to be In Line to print,
it's just that you can't *copy* a portion of the text & floating objects at
the same time. That was in response to the first part of your post.

If the objects are still not printing the next suggestion I'd make is that
you check the mfr's site & see if there is an updated driver for your
printer. If that doesn't prove to be the solution you'll need to provide
some additional information:

Exact update levels of Office & OS X,

Specific tools used to create the items that don't print - Drawing tools,
SmartArt Graphics. Do they display in Print Layout View?

Are you printing the entire document or just a portion of it? If just a
portion, are you trying to select content & print the selection or are you
specifying the pages to be printed in the Print dialog?
