Drawing vertical lines in the line item section

Hello all,

I need to draw a rectangle on the header and footer
of an Access 2000 report, and 4 vertical lines in the line item section that
connect
another rectangle on the footer of the same report.
Is there a way to programatically to set them in, so that they connect
perfectly?
in what event?

Any guidance appreciated.
