Drop Down Form control always causes excel to crash

I have many computer systems, same outcome; using the web form drop down
control causes excel to terminate and recover; doesn't give an error code;
any ideas on a fix/patch appreciated. TIA

If something is causing Excel to crash, I usually try to find another way
to accomplish the task.

You may get a more specific answer, if you explain...
where you got the control
its exact name and version
where you are using it (on a user form or spreadsheet) or ?
your code (if any) used to display it.
