Drop-down list on the "To" line

How can I get rid of the drop-down options of possible
addressees that pops up whenever I start to type an e-
mail address that resembles one I have typed before? I
find this feature far more annoying than helpful, and I
can't make it go away. HELP!!!

When the drop down box appears with possible names, just
hit the DELETE key on the keyboard and the highlighted
names will disappear...
I know what you mean..
