Drop down menues

If you want to do this type of thing with custom animation
you certainly can, if you have triggers (2002 and later)
Maybe put in an arrow or a text box.
Click on that to trigger the entrance of a text box - use "peek in, down,
fast"
as the entry animation. Have a textbox with "close" on the menu which
can trigger "peek out, up, fast" (better see if you like these). The menu
can contain hyperlinks to other slides, or other triggers for animation
effects.
Be careful not to cover the menu with another object.
Other than the "close" animation it looks and acts like a microsoft menu.
