DRW manual code

The code below is a DRW for a table in my database to be displayed on my asp
page:

However, I want to do away with this DRW, and create a custom made code that
connects to my database, runs an SQL and displays a table with <%=Fieldname%>
in the table (formatted).

Can someone give me some pointers on this and list me a simple example for
me to expand on.

The following will do everything basically that the DRW code does:

Insert before the opening <html> tag
<%
'Create the Connection object
Dim DSN_Name
DSN_Name = Application("Database1_ConnectionString")
set Connection = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
Connection.Open DSN_Name

Set objRS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
strSQL = "Select * from tblCompany"
objRS.Open strSQL, DSN_Name
%>

To display the fields on your page, Insert the following in the body section in each table cell,
etc.:

<%=objRS("CompanyID")%>

Then at the bottom of the page after the closing </html> tag, close the recordset (objRS) like so:

<%
ObjRS.close
Set objRS = nothing
%>
