DTP Problem with Pub2002

I have had an ongoing problem with Publisher 2000 and 2002
files. I work in a print shop where we utilize a DTP
(direct-to-plate) system. My problem is this. I will
take a customers file, send it to my laser printer,
everythings fine, make a PDF out of it, everythings fine,
but about 3 out of 5 times, when I send it to the DTP,
some weird font problem occured. When I try and go back
through and figure out what the problem was, Publisher
decides to act nice and not have any problems. Does
anyone have and suggestions as to what I can do to avoid
these issues in the future? Thank you in advance.

I can't RIP the PDF because the settings do no come out
correct. The problem child I am having is this:

4/2 Tri-Fold Brochure

When I make a seperated PDF and send it my RIP, it comes
out stacked screens on photo. If I make a composite PDF
and send it as a CMYK image to my RIP, the black stacks.
If I send it out of Publisher, my CMYK photo does not
transpose correctly.

Any advice on anything here would be helpful.

Thanks
Ginger

I need to ask a stupid question........What do you mean by "rip"?

Thank you, Mike. It's nice when someone answers an honest question with an
appropriate answer.
