Dual Monitor

Jeff Mortenson

I'm currently using a dual monitor configuration and it
works well.

What I would like to be able to do is not out of the
ordinary, but I haven't been able to accomplish it.

I would like to have 2 different Excel spreadsheets open
at one time, one on each monitor.

Is this possible?

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,

You will have to size the primary Excel window to cover both
monitors, and then position each workbook within the main Excel
window.

I'm aware of two different ways to get different windows for
different Excel files.

#1. From the Windows "Start" menu, use the cascaded menu to open Excel.
Once Excel is running, use "File >> Open" to open an Excel file. Repeat the
steps for each file.

#2. Point to an Excel file on the desktop or in a folder. With the right
mouse button, click "Send To >> Excel". Repeat the steps for each file.

For way #2, you might not see "Excel" in the "Send To" menu at first. To
add it there, put a shortcut to the Excel program into the folder
C:\Windows\SendTo\

By the way, if you have two files of the same name in different folders,
this allows you to have both open at the same time.

(I have Win98 and Excel 97.)
