Dual Screen Functionality

Powerpoint 2002 on Windows XP
Dual Display with projector displaying powerpoint show,
and the laptop screen displaying the slidesorter view.

I expected to be able to click on a slide in the slide
sorter view and have that slide displayed in the "Show",
giving random access to slides during the presentation.

Apparently this (somewhat intuitative) functionality is
missing from powerpoint, or I am missing some small
detail on how to make it work.

Thanks for posted replies.

It is not a current ability of PowerPoint to do this. It could be done with
a VBA add-in, how much is your budget for VBA programmers? I have not heard
a large call for this type of show mode, but if enough people request it, a
programmer may design one for sale. Also MS has been fairly receptive to
suggestions for improvements. So who knows, PP2004?
