Duplicate field names in Project Server 2007

I hope someone has seen this issue and can help.

When I open a project file in MS Project Progessional and insert a
column I see duplicate file names in the drop down list such as:

Text 1 (Text 1)
Text 2 (Text 2)
.....
Number 1 (Number 1)
Number 2 (Number 2)

Once I rename the field, the duplication is no longer visable.

We have recently migrated from MS Project Server 2003 and imported
from many files from 2003 to 2007. When I open up a new project, I
don't see the duplication.
