When I open my web page in FP 2003 some of the folders
and files in the web show up twice? Not all of them and
not the same ones each time. The folder that is shown
twice is identical to the other. If I edit one of the
files or folders, the change is mirrored in the other

Try choosing Recalculate Hyperlinks from the Tools menu
and see if that makes the problem go away.
If it doesn't, browse the root Web's administration page,
click Server Health, and run it with all the check boxes
selected.
