Duplicate resources and projects from one instance to another

Hi:
Does anyone know if there is a way to duplicate the resources, projects,
timesheets etcs from one Project Server instance to another? Is there a tool
to do that? Thanks.

You need to restore the entire environment including the global, calendar,
custom fields, etc. This requires either a full back up and restore of
project and SharePoint using WSS 3.0 or doing a backup and restore of the 4
project server databases and restoring them to the new environment.

Hi Jonathan:
Thanks for your answer. I already duplicate the whole setting including
enterprise global, customer fields and so on by Playbook. In this case, what
should I do? Only duplicate the four databases in the production environment
to test environment is OK?

Thanks

Playbook only restores the structure including configuration settings.
There is no way to restore the data separately.

If you instead do a backup and restore the 4 project DBs, you will get both
the data and the configuration settings. The best way to do this is using
the WSS Central Admin 3.0 to do a full backup and restore which will restore
not only your project DBs but also your content (WSS) DBs. This approach
isn't so straight forward sometimes and a little fickle. Alternatively, you
can do a backup and restore via SQL Manager of the 4 project DBs in which
case you will get all the project data and configuration settings but not
the content.

Hi Jonathan:
Thanks very much for your answer. Sounds like backup and restore the four
databases is the easiest solution for us. But what do you mean by no
"content"?

Thanks

By content I meant the Content DB which contains the SharePoint data
including all project workspaces (Issues, Risks, Documents, etc).

Hi Jonathan:
I duplicated the four databases. And now I can access the test instances
with all the projects and resources. It is almost successful. But the only
problem I have is that even though I have all the resources and I can even
open the projects in MS Project Pro. But with the accounts, I cannot login to
the PWA. It was reports access denied. I checked the access right of the
accounts and they are the same. Do you know what went wrong?

Thanks
