duplicate set of folders in folder list??

In my folder list there are two complete sets of duplicate folders - the
main folder is named "Outlook Today" It won't let me close one of the sets
because it contains (as well as the other) and a "calendar, contacts and POP
mailbox".

Is there a reason for this? I'd like to delete one set or the other - each
updates together and are mirror images of each other.

what gives??

I had the same or similar problem.
I was using Cloudmark spamnet 2.3. I removed this and all was OK.

I was running Cloudnet as well - per your suggestion I removed it but still
have the same set of duplicate folders - I rebooted as well. Did you do
anything else other than remove Cloudnet -anything in Outlook itself?

I'm no expert.
I had to do a repair (detect and repair under help in Outlook) I had to
delete customized settings.
Then all was OK. You need to backup outlook files first.
