Duplicate TOC Entries

R

Russ Lipp

I encountered a duplicate entry in a document's TOC. It
occurred when I inserted a page break where there was a
large graphic in a text frame. The duplicate TOC entry has
the same text as the heading, but the page numbers are 1
digit apart. For example, if the heading appears on page
3, the TOC looks like:
"heading 2" page 2
"heading 2" page 3

What causes this, and how can I fix it? Appreciate any
help.

Hi Russ

You have correctly diagnosed the problem: it's the manual page break that's
causing the duplicate entry. So, delete the manual page break. Click where
you want the page to break, then Format > Paragraph. On the Line and Page
Breaks tab, click Page Break Before.

Hope this helps.
