Duplicates... 20 copies... forever...

I don't just get duplicates all of a sudden.. I get the same message for
days.
outlook 2003 11.5608.5703
This happens on two accounts. Lets call one "first". On this account,
everything is supposed to go to my Work folder... This is a rule. They end
up in both the inbox and Work folder. More like a copy and not a move. The
second account I log in as another user and move anything to that user to
the "Trouble Report" folder. Same thing... more like a copy as a copy is
left in the Inbox.

Now, the first account has for years been set to leave a copy on the server
for 8 days and then delete it. The second account has always been Leave on
Server forever (someone else deletes these). They have worked fine and the
only change has been Windows XP SP2.

Instead of the system saying to read all new since last read, it is saying
read all messages on the server and I can't find anything on this. I have my
email reading every 5 minutes and for 8 days times 24 hours times 12 times
an hour, this is a hell of a lot dupes I have to manually remove.

How can I fix this?

One addition.. I deleted all rules to see if that was the problem and it is
not. Just all Duplicates go to the Inbox then. So, Houston, we still have a
problem

Houston, does disabling the AV and Firewall from scanning your incoming mail
help?

While swamped with dupes, I noticed since my last post that not all messages
were duplicated. and found a message that said to delete all in this account
at the server via webmail as the account might be corrupted. I have done
that and won't know for a day or two if it is still duplicated.

The AV I have is McAfee's ASAP from our company account and this licensed
version (other than vs updates) had no problem before. As for the firewall,
I am not killing that, althought I did stop my thrid part firewall when I
got XP SP2 and use the supplied one. It's ports must be set right or I would
not get any email, would I?

Anyway, I hope the deletion has fixed stuff.

Apprx a week ago I installed XP2 on XP pro. Over the
last two days I have started receiving duplicates of all
my emails. I haven't changed any settings in Outlook and
the duplicates don't show up on my webmail. Arrgghhh!
