Duplicates created during imports of CSV file

BCM 2007 gives me duplicates of all accounts when I reimport from the same
CSV file, even though I choose "do not import duplicates"

How do I stop this?

Probably can't. I know they have some algorithm for figuring out if
they have a match or not. When importing BCM files, each object has a
unique id, so BCM can get perfect matches, but for imports from CSV
thy try to decide based on unique telefone numbers or email addresses,
and tend to err on the side of not overwriting what may be a different
contact.

Thank you Luther, it's starting to make sense.
Obvious questions - can I instruct BCM which field to treat as the unique
identifier?
Also, BCM shows support for Quickbooks up to 2005, will there be an upgrade
so that it it supports 2008?
