Duplicating calendar events and tasks when syncing with iCal

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

Help! Almost all of my events and tasks are being duplicated. All Day events, events lasting 30 minutes, it doesn't matter. Does anyone have a solution?
