Duplicating Graphic Objects

In text mode, Ctrl+D invokes the Format Font menu.
In graphics mode, i.e. with a graphic selected that was created using the
tools on the Draw toolbar, Ctrl+D will duplicate the graphic, offsetting the
duplicate by a fixed distance in a south-easterly direction. Is there any way
one can adjust the offset distance and direction?

Also, rotating a graphic by its rotating handle (the line with the green
circle on its end) while holding down the Ctrl key, rotates the graphic with
the opposite node (handle) as centre point. Is there any way one can rotate
around any of the other 7 nodes?

The behaviour you described below is a default and as far as I know to
"editable", but feel free to enhance it in the following way:
Copy (duplicate) an object in question via Ctrl+D, then adjust
distance/direction via arrow keys (or dragging via mouse), hit Ctrl+D again
all subsequent shapes will be inserted with the newly determined distance ...
This functionality works also in Excel or PowerPoint.
Feel free to create stairs, circles etc.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to "store" the setting ...
Hope that helps

Another Option: Hold Control while dragging the shape to duplicate &
position simultaneously.

As for the rotation, no, the rotation point can't be specified.
