duration calculation

Why did the durations, entered in days, start in the middle of the day and
therefore change the original duration to more than the original duration?

Tasks normally start as soon as they are able. If I have tasks A & B, with a
duration on Task A of 1.5 days (12 hours of work), task B is linked FS to
task A. Task B will start at 1PM (after lunch) on the date task A completes.

Look for predecessors to your task that are not full day duration tasks. It
may not be an immediate predecessor, you may have to look for predecessor's
predecessors (and further up the chain).

Hi,

The fact you enter duration in days is irrelevant. Project's only unit of
calculation is the minute.
When you enter a number of days, internally project immediately converts
that into minutes using the conversion parameter in Tools, Options, Hours
per day.
Hope this helps.
