Dynamic Enterprise Outline Codes?

Using Project Server, can one create an Enterprise Outline Code that will
"cascade" to sub-Enterprise Outline Codes? For example could one:
A) Create a Project "SAM"
B) Choose File, Save As, "SAM"
C) On the first enterprise outline code a choice is displayed: 1,2,or 3
representing unique business processes
D) Selecting 1 would present "Cascaded" outline codes a,b,c; 2 would present
d,e,f; 3 would present g,h,i. "Cascaded Outline codes would represent detail
customized to the first outline code.

You can create multi value outline codes for resources and assignments
in Project Server.

To do this, open Project Professional 2003 and follow the steps (am
giving example for resource code):
1. Click Enterprise Options (tools menu) and select Open Enterprise
Global (EGT).
2. In EGT, from the Tools menu, click on Customize - Enterprise Fields.
3. Click the Custom Outline Codes tab and then the Resource radio
button.
4.Select one of Enterprise Outline Codes 20 - 29.
5. Rename the field, then add a Code Mask and then add the Lookup Table
information (in you case, this will be the heirarchy you have
mentioned)
6 Close the Customize Enterprise Fields dialog boxes, then close and
save the Enterprise Global template, and then restart Project
Professional.

Hope this helps.

Why don't you simply build a single enterprise Project outline code that
cascades to show the detail you desire? It would be a 2-level outline code
that would look like this:

1
a
b
c
2
d
e
f

Why doesn't that work for you? Let us know and we will try to help.

He's talking about projects, not resources, so your solution won't work for
him.
