dynamic hyperlink problems

B

Brad Lloyd

I'm trying to create a dynamic hyperlink to a network-shared file which will be identified by the form user. The user enters/pastes the file location into an infopath field. I tried using concat and the field value to generate syntax required by infopath to create the hyperlink as a datasource link. I've also tried creating another field to store the concat result and reference directly to it. However, every time I add & save or edit the hyperlink, the hyperlink defaults to an address link of "http://address". There was an earlier post referencing a similar problem. The solution was to delete the hyperlink and try it again. That's not working for me. I've had no luck searching the web for another solution.
Any other ideas?

Similar problem!

you may specify the protocol: file://UNC here.

The default is http, I guess.
