Michael Pratz

Hi all, I am a newbie at e-commerce. I have MS Frontpage 2002, I have a
website hosted by websitesource, I just signed up for linkpoint connect and
linkpoint central e-commerce. Upon reading the sites info, I am seriouslly
confused. There is no info on setup or startup. Anyone know anything about
setting up e-commerce? I Have a website already, I just want to make a
simple store, maybe 10-15 products. I just dont know where to start? I will
be useing Miva Merchant to make the store and cart. Any help or references
appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Mike

Mike,
If your "store" only has 10-15 products you can simplify things but not
using a "shopping cart" and simply use a Paypal buy me button for each
product. Otherwise;

Typically when you signup for something like "linkpoint central e-commerce"
they probably have component that you display on your website (or just a
specific hyperlink) that takes you to the catalog/store that will be running
on their server. At that stage of the game you signon their
server/storefront software and upload your images, descriptions and pricing
information. And their software takes care of the rest. Afterall that is
what your paying for. Often you don't have to run any e-commerce software on
your Isp's webserver. (Which will please your ISP from a security point of
view, I am sure).

So contact "linkpoint central e-commerce" and ask for a tutorial on how to
setup the store.

Hope this helps,
Tom Miller
