e-mail autoresponse

Anne

I use FP2003 and wish to respond to a submitter when they
complete and submit a form to our site.

My domain host autoresponse feature does respond properly
to emails sent to the addy but does not (presently) do
the job if a form is submitted. I cannot figure it out.

Has anyone any suggestions?

Thanks,
Anne

Not possible to do this with the FP Form Handler, you would have to use ASP, PHP, etc., depending on
what is supported by your web host.

First you check with your host to see what server-side scripting language they support, then you do
a search in the IE address bar like:

? ASP Form Handler
or
? PHP Form Handler

etc.

set an email response from the form to go to the
autoresponse address you setup on your host.

submission to the form goes to autoresponder and response
made.

form details goes to the text file you nominate on the site
/ or perhaps a database.

You can also set the autoresponder to send you notification
of the response being sent out if you like though not the
detail submitted by the visitor.
