e-mail just sits

I am having a problem with my e-mail just staying in my outbox. I am using Outlook that came with MS Office Professional 2003
I compose my mail and hit send and it just stays in my in box. It doesn't matter how many times I hit send & receive it will no go out, It happen about 50% of the time. It seams to happen more when I have an attachments with the mail.

If you have any anti-virus software (or any software at all) that scans
your outgoing mail, disable that scanning - it often seems to cause this
problem.
