E-Mail messages stay in outbox and keep resending

In Outlook there are 6 messages in my outbox, they will not go away. All but
2 the messages have already been received. If I try to delete them nothing
happens except they get sent again. The system just keeps resending.

1) Increase your send/receive interval
2) Increase your server timeout value (on the Advanced tab of your account
properties).
