E-mail notification

Is it possible to set Outlook to notify you of a new e-mail WITHOUT the program being open? It doesn't have to be too fancy - just something that informs you that "hey, you've got new mail", so that you can open Outlook only when you need it open.

No you can't. But you can move Outlook to the Notification area so it won't
clutter your taskbar.
