e-mail problem thru Word 2000 with Word being e-mail editor

Have a PC with Windows 95 that was upgraded to Windows Me
about a year ago. Memory getting low on C Drive. I have a
D Drive with over 53000MB free space where I try to put my
newer applications. I also have Word 2000, Microsoft
Outlook Express 6 and Microsoft Outlook 2000. I'd like to
be able to e-mail a document(such as Word letter)and an
attachment(such as another Word form) both out of Word
2000,preferably with Word as e-mail editor,preferably in
Word format (.doc),but also maybe the choice to have HTML
format, but when I try to e-mail above 2 forms from Word
2000 it doesn't go thru&I get 2 Outlook Express error
messages:The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify
that you have entered server name correctly.Account 'POP3'
server: 'SMTP Protocol:SMTP....and 2nd error: The
host 'POP3' could not be found. Please verify you have
entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3'
Server: 'POP3' Protcol: POP3....
Can anyone help me here as I'm just trying to e-mail from
Word on my home computer. I have never tried to do this
before. The only times I have e-mailed in the past, are
when I did it thru the regular sending messages when I'm
in AOL 8.0 or AOL 9.0
Any good written instructions would be gratefuly
appreciated.

Check in Control Panel, Internet Options, Programs tab that Outlook is set
as your email client (not Outlook Express). Then in Outlook, under Tools,
Options, Mail settings you select Word as you email editor and the format
should be HTML. Now when you open a new mail message in Outlook, Word should
open for you to create your email.

Similarly, if you are in Word, you should now be able to use File, Send To,
Email recipient and the document will be sent in HTML.
