e-mail typing problem

When I start to type a new e-mail while I'm typing it gives me a dot after
each word and it got a funny thing on it that looks like a backwards p and a
t. How do I get this to go away

Sounds like you are using Word as the Email editor and have Show
Formatting turned on. Go into Word and turn off the feature.
