If you are getting e-mails from your own e-mail address,
either someone that has you in their address book has a
virus or you do.
The best way to avoid spam is to have a separate account
that you use to e-mail friends and family. Then have
another account that you use for on-line purchases,
surveys, etc.
Lastly, see if your ISP has any spam controls you can
access. Perhaps if there are any parental controls you
can temporarily set them to only allow mail from certain
e-mail addresses.
