e-mails disappeared when "sent"

I had two e-mails in my outbox to be sent. I had named my profile (in Mail control panel) “test†and wanted to change it to “kattia,†so I deleted the “test†profile, created “kattia,†and selected the same database to use. I saw my 2 outgoing e-mails, but they were not in italics, so I dlb-clicked them and clicked SEND. They both disappeared. They did not go back in the Outbox nor in Sent Mail. I can’t understand what happened to them. Can you help?
