E-mails go to outbox but don't send - no error message

Hi

I've just used Outlook to manage my Yahoo account. Outlook is successfully
receiving e-mails sent to my Yahoo account, but when I create a new mail
message and hit "send" it goes to my outbox and never sends (even when I hit
"send/receive"). There is no error message received. I only realised this
by chance when I'd sent a message and my partner (on a nother laptop in the
same room) didn't receive it and I saw all the unsent mail in my mail box.

Please help.

Cheers!
Amanda

Which version of Outlook are you using?
Are you saying that all your messages stay in the Outbox and never get moved
to the Sent Items folder?

Hi Roady

Thanks for your quick reply. I'm using Outlook 2007 with Windows Vista.
Yep, you've got it right. All the messages I compose stay in the Outbox and
never get sent (and thus never get moved to the "sent items" folder).

Any ideas?

A usual suspect with sending issues is a virus scanner that integrates with
Outlook and not doing a proper job at it. But then it often it is also
exposed in Outlook with send/receive errors.

You might want to give it a go in Outlook Safe Mode by starting Outlook via;
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

If it still happens then, just to make sure no 3rd party tool is causing
this issue, you might want to start Windows Vista in Safe Mode (with
networking support) and see how it performs then.

Hi Roady

I followed your directions exactly and got the following error message:

---------------------------
Microsoft Office Outlook
---------------------------
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. The command line argument is not
valid. Verify the switch you are using.
